March 2025 Beta Announcement

Hi everyone! :waving_hand:

We’ve just released our new private beta for CloudCannon Partners — you can opt in from the :cloudcannon: dashboard to test out the following features and updates:

Publishing conflict resolution

This is a new feature, allowing users to resolve publishing conflicts directly in CloudCannon. It’s currently available to Owners, Developers, Technical Editors and other groups with custom permissions.

Our new interface highlights differences between your current branch (red) and your publish branch (green). You’ll be presented with options to use current changes, incoming changes, or to create a hybrid solution.

Publishing page improvements

The Publishing page has been redesigned with a more intuitive tab structure consisting of Summary, Changes, and Commits tabs. The new Summary tab serves as a central dashboard displaying publish controls, recent file changes, and recent commits, providing you with a comprehensive overview of their site’s publishing status. This reorganization creates a more consistent experience with other areas of the application.

Domains section enhancements

We’ve consolidated all domain management into a dedicated section with an improved browser interface showing domain status, connected sites, and DNS provider information. The domain management experience is now organized into four tabs — Network, DNS, Sites, and Domain Settings — making it easier to configure subdomains, SSL settings, and DNS records. The Custom Domain page under Site Settings has been simplified to focus on connecting sites to domains. This is aimed to give clearer instructions when setting up a new domain and give a better overview when managing lots of subdomains.

Source Editor updates

The Source Editor has received a significant upgrade with improved syntax highlighting for YAML front matter and markdown content. New functionality includes conflict highlighting capabilities, multi-line editing with multiple cursors, and updated themes with “basic_dark” as the default. These improvements are intended to enhance the source editing experience while laying the groundwork for more configuration options in the future.

Your feedback’s really important to us, and will help us prepare these features for our forthcoming public beta. Check out the beta changelog for more information, and let us know what you think!

Note: This beta is currently limited to CloudCannon Partners. We’ll announce in this channel as soon as it’s ready for all CloudCannon users to try out.

@Damir_Dimitrovici I’ll send you a Slack message too, not directly related to the approver workflow we’ve been talking about but the changes to the Publishing screen would be useful! Could be good to get you using Beta if you haven’t already opted in :green_heart:
